Artist in Residence: Hayley Monroe
July 20 @ 10:00 am – July 31 @ 4:00 pm

Hayley Monroe is a painter and printmaker who works primarily with oil paint and linoleum block printing while focusing on exploring the natural world and portraiture. While capturing the complexity of her environment, she aims to convey its vitality in a substantive and impactful way. Hayley finds that oil painting allows her to work fluidly to create something rich and complex whereas printmaking pulls her back in and results in something more succinct.
While at the Fredericton Botanic Garden, Hayley will create both oil paintings and linoleum prints, allowing her to consider the visual language of each piece. She is interested in seeing the image pairing that will emerge from her residency.
