Les Jardins de Métis: Talk by Jim Goltz & Steve Stehouwer
April 16 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Les Jardins de Métis, also known as Redford Gardens, are likely the most famous gardens east of Quebec City and are an extremely popular tourist destination, with over 5 million visitors since 1962. Located on the north shore of the Gaspé Peninsula just east of Rimouski QC, they were created and developed between 1928 and 1956 by visionary and horticulturalist Elsie Redford. The gardens are most renowned for their beauty, creativity and success in growing Himalayan Blue Poppies and Fall Crocuses, but have become a horticultural, historic, artistic, cultural and culinary destination of crucial economic importance to that geographic region. This presentation will provide more information on the gardens and show how they looked on September 9, 2024.
Admission is by donation. Please RSVP as spaces are limited.
