Starting June 30th and for the rest of the summer, the Botanic Garden will host a series of Artists in Residence. These artists will be at the Garden on weekdays and will create works inspired by their surroundings. Their home base will be 10 Cameron Court. Stop in to chat with them about their work. This program is made possible by the City of Fredericton.

Gary is a woodcarver and first embarked on his artistic journey at a young age. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1981 and travelled the world including the Black Forest region of Germany, the historical landscapes of Bosnia, the vibrant cultures of Sierra Leone, the poignant beauty of Rwanda in Central Africa, and the rugged terrains of Afghanistan, & Honduras in Central America. Gary seized every moment in each location to engage with local artists, learning their techniques and cultivating his distinctive artistic voice.

During his residency, Gary will construct a large sculpture that will also feature an intriguing short story.
