Artist in Residence: Caoife Garvey
June 30, 2025 – July 11, 2025

Starting June 30th and for the rest of the summer, the Botanic Garden will host a series of Artists in Residence. These artists will be at the Garden on weekdays and will create works inspired by their surroundings. Their home base will be 10 Cameron Court. Stop in to chat with them about their work. This program is made possible by the City of Fredericton.
Caoife Garvey is an Irish textile artist based in Fredericton. She is a graduate of NBCCD where she now works as an instructor in the Textile Design and Foundation Visual Arts programs. She specializes in weaving and wet felting techniques and works primarily with natural fibres such as linen, paper, wool, and natural dyes. Her recent artistic practice has been inspired by landscape and local flora.
During her residency, she will combine nature, textile arts, and sustainable practices by creating felted sculptures inspired by the plants found in the Botanic Garden.
